Who is the Illinois Regional Extension Center?

IL-HITREC (Illinois Health Information Technology Regional Extension Center) is designed to help physicians, located outside the City of Chicago, receive subsidized services to achieve Meaningful Use of electronic health records (EHRs). Our goal is to help facilitate the electronic exchange of information across health care setting and to meet the national goals:
  • Improve quality, efficiency and reduce health disparities
  • Engage patients and families in their healthcare
  • Improve care coordination; and
  • Improve population and public health.

All, while maintaining privacy and security.
